Alarmist Predictions

Ankle Bracelets? No, Thanks.

This is a shocker, but for once I find myself in agreement with the John Howard Society in opposing the use of ankle bracelets for parolees.

Any agreement ceases thereafter. The JHS exists in part to make a parolee’s life a lot easier. I disagree with letting anyone out early; scrap parole and you don’t need ankle bracelets.

Bad Idea

If a sexual predator is sentenced to 20 years for his crimes, why do we consider letting him out in less than half that time? Why is that my cell phone contract has more ability to bind me for three years than a court sentence for burglary?

The justice system is broken, it has been skewed toward criminal’s rights and has forgotten the victims. It’s time to get tougher on the criminals. Hug-a-thug policies have failed and the police are arresting the same people for the same crimes over and over, thanks to the courts and parole boards.

Before lefties get upset about this post, consider that all I expect is for convicted criminals to serve out their entire sentence. That’s all. I don’t expect them to live in squalor on a diet of gruel, they can keep their TV’s for all I care. I just want them watching CSI from the inside.

Good Idea

Sentence times must be made mandatory; if we scrap parole, everyone’s life becomes easier except for the criminals. And that’s as it should be.
