Sales of electric cars in Spain have crashed. Or, to be more accurate they never really took off at all.
The Spanish government planned to have 2,000 electric vehicles on the road by the end of this year. Sales so far - 15.
Plus 1 sold in 2009 makes for 16 vehicles sold. In total.
The electric vehicles that Spain wants 250,000 of on the road are made by Norwegian firm Think. It looks as if consumers in Spain actually did think about it and passed. Perhaps the failure of Spain’s grand solar project made Spaniards gun-shy when it comes to green initiatives.
If Spain had the marketing genius behind the Chevy Volt, maybe things would have turned out differently. Or not.
Round-Up tomorrow and a fresh Examiner.com article published today.

The Volt may well turn out to be America’s Zil (famous Soviet-era auto favored by the elite).
Surely this magnificent machine will be so highly praised that all government functionaries and agencies will be wanting to have one.
