A new study published in Australia suggests that the half the planet may be too hot to live on in a few hundred years:
“…climate change will not stop in 2100, and under realistic scenarios out to 2300, we may be faced with temperature increases of 12 degrees or even more.” Prof McMichael said if this were to happen, then current worries about sea level rises, occasional heatwaves and bushfires, biodiversity loss and agricultural difficulties would “pale into insignificance” compared to the global impacts. Such a temperature rise would pose a “considerable threat to the survival of our species“, he said, because “as much as half the currently inhabited globe may simply become too hot for people to live there”.
That’s not good news, if you believe in hyperactive scaremongering. What is worse news is that a reporter on the environmental beat, ‘journalist‘ Louise Gray of the Daily Telegraph, reported the same story but accredited the wrong study. Gray managed to confuse the alarmist study, called ‘An adaptability limit to climate change due to heat stress‘ with the Hartwell Paper, a completely different study that challenges methods used to combat global warming.
Here’s a screenshot for when she memory holes the error, like she’s done before:
Round-up tomorrow.
Oh, and this is the 1,000th post on The Daily Bayonet. You’re welcome.
