Alarmist Predictions

Six Unimportant Things

Well this is a first for me, I got tagged.  So in the spirit of blogidarity I’ll jump in:

Share six non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.

1.  I can drive stick in Canada and the UK

2.  I’ll read & enjoy anything by John Irving, Richard Russo or Bill Bryson

3.  I keep a bird feeder filled just to entertain my cats

4.  I’ve met more famous musicians than you

5.  I heckled UK comic Lenny Henry, and he destroyed me

6.  BB King told me how he quit smoking

There.  I’m now supposed to tag some other poor folks.  I notice that most of those on my ‘list’ have already been victimized, so with apologies, here is my abbreviated list.

Any (or all!) of the good folk at The London Fog

The very classy Military Mom at Home

The oddity that is Dups

  • There’s always been plenty of unimportant facts on the London Fog, but we’ve provided an authoritative list anyway, which also proved an occasion for deleting a persistent troll. I guess that’s another unimportant fact.
Thanks for the invitation, from another big fan of Bill Bryson.

  • He didn’t say anything particularly new - he said he missed it from time to time, quitting is hard and so on.
The real treat was being in a room and just having a conversation with a legend. I mean, he’s BB King!
I spent a few days after the meeting thinking of all the people that BB himself had met - like ‘I shook the hand of the man who shook the hand of Elvis…’
That game went on for a while.

  • I just finished Brysons The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid, good read, very funny.
What did BB say about smoking?
