Radical animal-rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals loves animals so much it kills 95% of pets in its care:
Documents published online this month show that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, an organization known for its uncompromising animal-rights positions, killed more than 95 percent of the pets in its care in 2011.
The documents, obtained from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, were published online by the Center for Consumer Freedom, a non-profit organization that runs online campaigns targeting groups that antagonize food producers.
Fifteen years’ worth of similar records show that since 1998 PETA has killed more than 27,000 animals at its headquarters in Norfolk, VA.
Note for animal rights activists and ex-chairs of scientific ethics committees: ethics, you’re doing it wrong.

So the ideologues are pragmatists when it comes to their own businesses and finances. The hypocrisy is staggering.
Regardless of PETA says is the reason, the common, animal-loving people who support PETA expect PETA to fundamentally look after animals rejected for one reason or another. The PETA HQ is not set-up to maintain animals if only 24 out of 1935 were euthanized last year, and 84% are euthanized within 24 hours. It is not even organized to transfer the animals they receive to other, care-oriented facilities.
This is like finding Patrick Watson’s favourite dish is whale blubber.

If the world ran on hypocrisy, PETA and the environmentalists could power the whole planet. Well once they make a useful vacuum into a useless carpet masseuse.

It’s true, bunnies aren’t just latent fur coats, they’re also delightful when braised & served in a wine sauce. Just don’t _tell_ them about it.
