BC Show Trial, Day Four Summary: Process, What Process?

A short day in court today, for which I am sure Andrew Coyne is grateful.  In fact, it's probable that the most dramatic moment of the day for those of us following Coyne's liveblog was when he lost power and went dark for an hour or so.  The drama!

The only witness today was the lesser known complainant, Naiyer Habib.  For some reason Faisal Joseph, lawyer for the CIC decided to ask Habib about an American web site (Free Republic) for 'reaction' to the Steyn piece published in Maclean's.  It looks like they have even stopped pretending that the BC location matters - they just want to hang Maclean's and have done with it.

Oddly, Habib said that although he was offended by the Macleans article, he Googles it to see what reactions were out there.  In other words, he was so offended he had to go read more stuff to get even more offended.  Someone should introduce this guy to the idea of the 'off switch'.  Oh well, why self-censor when you can have the government of British Columbia do it for you.

And that's it.  Maclean's lawyer Porter tried a cross that was mostly objected out of existence, some papers were filed and the day ended.  Full details here at Andrew Coyne's blog.

Mark 'Hatemonger' Steyn himself will on CTV's Mike Duffy at 5pm EST, if I find a link to it later, I'll post it.
