Climate is a dirty word

Radical greens are upset that their golden goose is cooked:

“Climate … seems to have become a dirty word,” says Melinda Pierce, lead lobbyist for the Sierra Club. She says environmentalists need to seek smaller, specific victories. “If we talk electric cars,” she says, “people find that appealing.”

What people will find less appealing is the knowledge that the Sierra Club has done everything in its power to ensure there is not enough energy to charge their electric vehicles:

The Globe and Mail has an excellent article about when environmentalists used to be a force for good. That was before the siren song of global warming and the riches attached to it corrupted the message and turned granola-munching hippies concerned about wildlife into apologists for useless ‘green’ technology like giant bird-shredders.

The biggest loser is the environmental movement. For years, its activists neglected almost everything but climate change. They behaved as if they’d cornered the market on wisdom, truth and certainty, and they demonized anyone who dared to disagree. They got a fabulous free ride from politicians and the media, who parroted their claims like Sunday-school children reciting Scripture. No interest group in modern times has been so free from skepticism, scrutiny or simple accountability as the environmental establishment.
