Greens: campaign cash is evil, unless it's ours

As the United States approaches the mid-terms next Tuesday, the press is ‘exposing’ climate skeptics and the Tea Party as being funded by evil right-wingers.

Here’s George Monbiot, a man who understands America about as well as he understands the weather, on the new green bogeymen, the Koch brothers:

The Kochs have lavished money on more than 30 other advocacy groups, including the Heritage Foundation, the Manhattan Institute, the George C Marshall Institute, the Reason Foundation and the American Enterprise Institute. These bodies have been instrumental in turning politicians away from environmental laws, social spending, taxing the rich and distributing wealth.

And here is commondreams.org wailing about BP, Karl Rove and others:

Much of the speculation has focused on Karl Rove, the mastermind of George Bush’s victories, who has raised $15m for Republican candidates since September through a new organisation, American Crossroads. An NBC report warned that Rove was spearheading an effort to inject some $250m in television advertising for Republican candidates in the final days before the 2 November elections.

One question for the Guardian and the other hippies who are freaking out about how money is influencing the politics and the climate debate, what about Al’s cash? We still don’t know where Al Gore got $300 million to promote the global warming hoax. Does it only matter where the money comes from when the cash is spent to counter the well-funded green message?

We already know the answer, consider the question rhetorical.
