Skeptics score a double

It was the best of times, it was awesome times; a tale of two warmists and their jobs.

The Loser

Connolley. Don't ask.

William M. Connolley has been banned from editing any Wikipedia entry that has anything to do with global warming.

Connolley is the alarmist who single-handedly ensured a warmist spin was applied to every page related to global warming or the people active in that field. Wikipedia banned him after he removed the Hal Lewis APS resignation letter from the site. Connolley had been suspended once before, but now it looks like his days as a censoring propagandist are over for good. Wikipedia will be able to balance articles and give the full global warming picture to interested people rather than just the alarmist version.

The Winner

is that my credibility down there?

Rajendra Pachauri, the Chair of the UN IPCC and part-time racy novelist has kept his job even after a damning review of the IPCC process and his own leadership and PR mis-steps. Pachauri will remain in his position through to 2014.

Pachauri’s enormous hubris at staying on only damages the IPCC, he is the face of its public failure. I wrote about why he should stay last month:

The public has lost faith in the once-respected IPCC and Pachauri is the public face of that body. Why allow the IPCC to ‘rebrand’ when skeptics have such a recognizable face to symbolize everything that is wrong with climate science. Pop up a picture of Pachauri and the first thing people think of is Climategate, not climate science.
