Alarmist Predictions

Fishpocalypse, Part Deux

Earlier this week it was fish endangered by man. Now it’s the other way around.

California’s San Joaquin valley, once a lush source of produce now looks like a dust bowl thanks to a tiny fish, the US congress and radical environmentalists.

The reason that farmers have suffered, agri-jobs are nonexistent and the land is parched is a small fish, the Delta Smelt. Congress deemed it an endangered species and ecotards at the Natural Resources Defense Council filed to stop farmers using water for crops to save the minnows.

Hannity covered the issue at the time of the water ban:

..

But a new study suggests that the delta smelt wasn’t in trouble because of a lack of water, but what was in the water.

80,000 jobs gone and an industry destroyed to save a fish by doing the wrong thing.

Welcome to the brave new green world.

You may recall a few months back when El Presidente bought two Obamacare votes in the House by turning the water back on(at least temporarily); when the choice came down to extending the power of the Federal Government versus saving the ecologically crucial Delta Smelt, Aunt Gaia got it right in the gazoo.
