Joe felt that Crichton’s novel was so damaging to the global warming cause that he delivered a crass post on the announcement of the author’s death.

A spate of novels and movies that feature climate change as either an overt part of the story-line, or an implicit backdrop against which mythical heroes strive may be creating the critical mass for a cultural awakening that allows climate change to be perceived at that pre-rational level – the kind of limbic awareness that motivates change. Full disclosure – I am at work on a trilogy that tells the story of one man’s struggle to prevent climate change, and to survive it and preserve some small part of nature when he fails.
It stands to reason that alarmists would write more fiction just as the world wakes up to the entirely fictional AGW hoax.
Agreed Steamboat, I think MC is probably having a good chuckle at the warmist’s current difficulties.
I have to admit, MC’s book was what put flesh on my then-vague suspicions that “This does not compute” vis-a-vis AGW.
I’ll always thank him, and think well of him for that.
And I think Crichton would be quite pleased with recent developments.
Awesome. But we still have to prevent the U.S. Senate from writing some truly harrowing fiction. Along those lines…
