Scientists have designed an airplane that runs on solar power and can stay airborne for 36 hours.
It sounds cool, but something occurred to me when I saw this quote:
The founder of the project, Bertrand Piccard, said his ambition taps a deep-seated human quest: perpetual flight.
Perpetual flight is a deep-seated human quest? I think it’s been a long time since Mr. Piccard has been squeezed into an economy seat and fed a dry bag of peanuts every 4 hours.
I miss the excitement, noise and Gaea ripping fuel consumption that was Concorde.
